A prism is a polyhedron formed by extruding any polygon. The polygon used in forming the prism is called the base of the prism.

In CSG notation, if x represents the base, then:

  • if x is solid,
    • xE represents the corresponding solid prism
    • xH represents the corresponding hollow prism
  • if x is hollow,
    • xE represents the corresponding uncapped prism
    • xH represents the corresponding wireframe prism
  • if x is marked,
    • xE represents the corresponding (unknown) prism
    • xH represents the corresponding marked prism
