A year ago, Zeno Rogue made a video and accompanying paper, showing how higher-dimensional cubic grids can be mapped to 2D or 3D hyperbolic space.
With this method, several points in 2D or 3D correspond to the same point in 4D. This contrasts with the usual projection method, where one point in 2D or 3D corresponds to several points in 4D.
