Rectification, also known as mesotruncation, is to truncate the vertices of a polytope such that the cutting hyperplane lies on the midpoints of the edges meeting at the vertex. It is the middle element of the sequence of truncations in each dimension: in odd dimensions, only the middle mirror is active, and in even dimensions, only the two middle mirrors are active.
