Transfering minds to different bodies

I think that the process will eventually be done, but it will be much more complicated. You'd have to be able to scan a person's brain for all the connections and memories, put it all into a database, then be able to access that database using your brain.

They wouldn't be switching bodies. No, instead what would happen is they are switching personalities and experiences. As long as the same brain stays in the same body they aren't switching.

So, it comes down to what you mean by "switching". Otherwise, I have no problem with this... it makes some sense.

What I mean by "switching" is that one person's mind would be transferred to the other person's body, and that person's mind would be transferred to the first person's body. i've always wanted to do that for a personal reason...

The earliest successful completion of this idea would probably be in the form of an actual full brain transplant. They just have to figure out how to connect up all the pieces, just like they do now with a heart transplant. We should be able to that in a hundred years or so.

It would be trickier to do a mind/consciousness transplant, but we'll probably eventually figure that out too...maybe in 500 years?

I'm kind of uncomfortable revealing this, but the reason I desire that abillity is because I want to find out what it's like to have the body of a female.
