Butter Knives

What about butter knives? I guess they should have one large dimension, two medium dimensions, and one small.

A butter knife in 3D is essentially a subset of a 2D cutting plane that bisects the stick of butter. It's narrow in one dimension because the action of cutting already traces out that dimension. The other dimension is long in order to cut through the entire stick. Of course, you'd also add a slight 3D thickness so that the knife would hold together in 3D space.

So by that same logic, a butter knife should be a subset of the 3D cutting hyperplane bisecting the stick of butter. Of its 3 dimensions, one could be short, because it would be made up for by the action of cutting. The other two dimensions would be long. Of course, you'd also add a slight 4D thickness so that it would hold together in 4D space. IOW a 4D butter knife ought to have 2 large dimensions, one medium dimension, and one small.
