New Car

The gear shift is not connected to the drive train.

The ignition uses no key.

The engine has no spark plugs. No alternator. No starter. No muffler...

The transmission changes gears by expanding and contracting a bell gear rather than switching physical gears. Clutchless.

How close to reality in 3D?

Hmm, pretty close. They're coming out with all this drive by wire stuff, and i've definitely heard of a continuous transmission. Just a decade or less til the first commercialized driverless cars, I'm sure.

/me wants a hybrid motorcycle for ultra-mileage
I sense, therefore I am.

I read in a ufology book that some guy made a small egg-like thing that hovers several feet in the air, and traveled kinda slow, and you could fit in it, but it wasn't antigravity or anything.
