The following are terminology guidelines for articles on HDDB.

Use of bold text
The title of an article should occur, literally or slightly altered, in the first sentence of the article in bold text.
Bold text can be used thereafter to indicate emphasis. Do not use italic text for emphasis.
Use of links
All terms in an article which either already have or probably should have an article on FGwiki should be made into a link in the first instance it appears after the bolded form of the title. Should the only occurance(s) of a particular term be inside the bolded form of the title, it should be linked in that location.
Lists of links within an article should always be linked, regardless of whether there is already a link earlier in the article.
Use of italic text
Italic text should be used to indicate a term which is described in the same article as the italicized term. The term should be italicized only in the first sentence of, or the sentence immediately before, its description.
Piping links
In general, links should not be piped, unless you are linking to a page not in the main namespace, or you are linking to an article from an acronym.
The main other use of piped links is to link to an article containing further information about a topic from relevant text.
