To keep expressions consistent across all mathematical articles in HDDB, you should follow the following guidelines:

Constants come at the front, with numerical constants first.
3a rather than a3, πa rather than , 3πa rather than π3a.
Constants which are fractional must be split into numerator and denominator. The numerator should be placed at the start, and the denominator at the end with an index of -1.
2a5-1 rather than 2/5a or 2a/5.
Constants which are square roots must be placed at the end of a term, after the denominator if it exists.
a√3 rather than √3a, a2-1√3 rather than a√3 2-1.
Brackets always come in the middle.
a(b+c)5-1√3 rather than 2π(b+c)a5-1√3 or 2πa5-1√3(b+c).
