now on the [5,3,2]-symmetry of ex: o3o5o2A + x3o5o2F + o3o5x2f + f3o5o2x + o3x5o2o (A=2f)
no nodes are equivalent.
fourth node expansion is the same as single axial expansion

possible negative nodes with (-x):
(-x)3x5o2F
o3(-x)5f2F
o3f5(-x)2f
f3o5o2(-x)
x3(-x)5f2o
(-x)3o5f2o

single node expansions:
1st node: (-x)3x5o2F +the others the same (CRF)
(-x)3x5o2F + (-x)3o5f2o +the others the same (CRF)
2nd node: x3(-x)5f2o +the others the same (CRF)
x3(-x)5f2o + o3(-x)5f2F +the others the same (CRF)
3rd node: o3f5(-x)2f + the others the same (CRF)
4th node: f3o5o2(-x) + the others the same, just an axial expansion. (CRF)(**not a problem)

double node expansions:
1st+2nd node:(-x)3o5f2o + o3(-x)5f2F + the others the same (?)
1st+3rd node:(-x)3x5o2F + o3f5(-x)2f + the others the same (?)
(-x)3x5o2F + (-x)3o5f2o + o3f5(-x)2f + the others the same (?)
1st+4th node: (-x)3x5o2F + f3o3o2(-x) + the others the same (?)
(-x)3x5o2F + f3o3o2(-x) + (-x)3o5f2o + the others the same (?)
2nd+3rd node: o3f5(-x)2f + x3(-x)5f2o + the others the same (?)
o3(-x)5f2F + o3f5(-x)2f + x3(-x)5f2o + the others the same (?)
2nd+4th node: x3(-x)5f2o + f3o5o2(-x) + the others the same (?)
x3(-x)5f2o + f3o5o2(-x) + o3(-x)5f2F + the others the same (?)
3rd+4th node: o3f5(-x)2f + f3o5o2(-x) + the others the same (?)

triple node expansions:
not 4th node: (-x)3o5f2o + o3f5(-x)2f + o3(-x)5f2F + the others the same (?)
not 3rd node: (-x)3o5f2o + f3o5o2(-x) + o3(-x)5f2F + the others the same (?)
not 2nd node: (-x)3x5o2F + o3f5(-x)2f + f3o5o2(-x) + the others the same (?)
(-x)3x5o2F + o3f5(-x)2f + f3o5o2(-x) + (-x)3o5f2o + the others the same (?)
not 1st node: o3f5(-x)2f + f3o5o2(-x) + x3(-x)5f2o + the others the same (?)
o3(-x)5f2F + o3f5(-x)2f + f3o5o2(-x) + x3(-x)5f2o + the others the same (?)

quadruple node expansion: o3f5(-x)2f + f3o5o2(-x) + (-x)3o5f2o + the others the same (CRF if triple not 3rd resp. not 4th are CRF)
(CRF) means it is CRF for sure
(?) means I don't know if it is CRF

now axial symmetry:
all nodes are equivalent. there are 17 distinct parts. any negative node doesn't change a thing on the other nodes. this means there are four possible axial things:
1 node expansion (known to be CRF, there is a incmat for this one
2 nodes expansion (I'm quite sure it is CRF, though it has not been double-checked)
3 nodes expansion (?)
4 nodes expansion (?)

followed up by [3,2,3]-symmetry. EDIT: This post has some errors, due to a mistake of mine at representing ex in this symmetry. Some mistakes may still be left. The post-fixes A,B etc. should be seen as what is ment.
ex: o3o f3f + x3o F3o + o3x o3F + f3o x3f + o3f f3x + f3x o3f + x3f f3o + o3F o3x + F3o x3o f3x f3o + x3f o3f + o3F x3o + F3o o3x + f3f o3o, or written differently o3o f3f + o3x o3F +x3f f3o + etc.

possible negative nodes:
(-x)3x F3o A (x3(-x) o3F = A1) (o3F (-x)3x = A2, F3o x3(-x) = A21)
(-x)3o o3F AA (o3(-x) F3o = AA1) (F3o (-x)3o = AA2, o3F o3(-x) = AA21)
(-x)3F f3o (-x)3F o3f B (F3(-x) f3o = B1) (f3o (-x)3F =B2, o3f F3(-x)=B21)

all nodes are somewhat equivalent. this means you can have the following expansions:
single node expansion:
any node: (-x)3x F3o + (-x)3F o3f +others the same (thawro hexachoron)* (A, B)
(-x)3F o3f + (-x)3x F3o + (-x)3o o3F +others the same (A, AA, B)

double node expansion:
1st+2nd "=" 3rd+4th node: (-x)3F o3f + o3(-x) F3o + (-x)3o o3F +others the same ** (B, AA1, AA)
1st+3rd "=" 2nd+4th node: (-x)3x F3o + (-x)3F o3f + o3F (-x)3x + f3o (-x)3F +others the same (<= interesting!!) (A, B, A2, B2)
(-x)3x F3o + (-x)3F o3f + (-x)3o o3F + o3F (-x)3x + f3o (-x)3F +others the same (A, AA, B, A2, B2)
(-x)3x F3o + (-x)3F o3f + (-x)3o o3F + o3F (-x)3x + f3o (-x)3F + F3o (-x)3o +others the same (A, AA, B, A2, AA2, B2)
1nd+4th "=" 2nd+3rd node:(-x)3x F3o + (-x)3F o3f + o3F (-x)3x + f3o (-x)3F +others the same (<= also interesting!!) (A, B, A21, B21)
(-x)3x F3o + (-x)3F o3f + (-x)3o o3F + o3F (-x)3x + f3o (-x)3F +others the same (A, AA, B, A21, B21)
(-x)3x F3o + (-x)3F o3f + (-x)3o o3F + o3F (-x)3x + f3o (-x)3F + F3o (-x)3o +others the same (A, AA, B, A21, AA21, B21)

triple node expansion: (all equivalent again) **
(-x)3F o3f + o3(-x) F3o + (-x)3o o3F + o3F (-x)3x +others the same ** (AA, B, AA1, A2)
(-x)3F o3f + o3(-x) F3o + (-x)3o o3F + o3F (-x)3x + F3o (-x)3o +others the same ** (AA, B, AA1, A2, AA2)

quadruple node expansions:
(-x)3F o3f + o3(-x) F3o + (-x)3o o3F + o3F o3(-x) + F3o (-x)3o +others the same ** (AA, AA1, B, B1, AA2, AA21)

** here means that an f is changed in a (F+x), otherwise everything would be **.

Well in fact neither the nodes of type (x+x) nor those of type (F+x) are invalid per se.
u = (x+x) even might occur at the outside, provided we have some local xux&#xt (hexagon) structure there.
(F+x) supposedly would not occur at the outside. Its validity then clearly depends on the existance of connecting unit lacings.

Such longer distances just might give evidence for getting a bit larger polytopes, i.e. the vertices of that specific layer moving further out.
It is more a question whether the other layers can bridge that distance somehow.

Wrt. your longer lists:
It is good to have those. But still I have no good feeling onto a systematical approach for exhausting each to be chosen subsymmetry. Neither on to order all those finds somehow systematically - e.g. for future display in our articel, hehe.

These 2 don't work, so. Their layer 2 (in your display) would not be joined to any of the others by unit lacings!

fxFxo3xxooF3ofxoo3fooFx&#zx is highly similar to the watery thawrochoron (When fxoo would have been changed to Fo(-x)x instead of F(-x)xo, and then expansion was done on both nodes, you would have had the watery thawrochoron). It has 20 thawroes, and some other stuff. I'm pretty sure it will be CRF.

This means that the (F+x)-things are the last one before we have exhaustively investigated this one.

Of course there are polytopes with a u at the outside. this u might very well be part of a hexagon. The problem only arises when an x is epanded into the u. if you take the hexagon xux, this must be an expansion of oxo, two triangles. such two triangles never occur on finite polytopes, and thus a u-edge at the outside is difficult to be valid. a u-edge on the inside will probably not occur, as x-edges mostly lay at the outside. Similarly, (F+x)-edges can very well occur at the inside of a polytope. even an expansion F=>(F+x) might very well be valid (you have such an expansion in the single axial expansion of ex). I just thought it to be very unlikely that an f-edge could be promoted to a F-edge by node-changing, and further expanded to (F+x). that's a bit like making a (x+u) out of a x. Note that I don't say they are non-CRF for sure, I just say it is very unlikely to be so
Wrt. your longer lists:

:D
But still I have no good feeling onto a systematical approach for exhausting each to be chosen subsymmetry.
Those lists were exactly aiming to do so. If you look at these lists very carefully, you see I first list the possible quirks. Then I list all possible expansions. This is done by first saying what nodes I will be expanding, and then what quirks can/must be used in every kind of expansion. This is done by using (-x)'s only where the expansion will be, and using x's only where no expansion will be. I think that is quite exhaustive, at least it exhausts all things that don't get u-edges. Then the summary gave the (worked out) expansions of the things that were most likely to be CRF.
Neither on to order all those finds somehow systematically - e.g. for future display in our articel, hehe.

I don't have any idea on how to do that whilst keeping the article not too unwieldy. I guess such a system might occur when we have found all valid things.

That one then has 60+30+60+20+30=200 vertices. Cell list would be

20 ikes,
5+20=25 octs,
60 squippies,
30+20+5=55 tets, and
20 thawroes

Squippies here have obvious positionings (thrice as many squippies than thawroes, no other squares).
Pentagons only occur at the thawroes, so those do connect pairwise there.
Hexagons also occur only at the thawroes, so those do connect there pairwise as well.
That is, these thawroes build kind a truss here only by themselves.
Remainder then is left for a mixture of tets, octs, and ikes...

What would that truss look like?
The top triangles of the thawroes are connected to the members of the specific class of 5 tets.
That is, those tets serve like vertices of a mimicked pentachoron.
The edges of that one then are given by pairs of thawroes, the hexagon thereby serves as their mirror.

Checked 2 more:

That one has f-lacings towards the second layer only. Thus it cannot be CRF.

I.e. befor expansion the fourth layer then here ought to be: (-x)3x3(-x)3F, right?
How'd you derive that from o3o3x3f ? (At least this would be the remaining ex layer, as the other 4 are easy reconstructed.)
Thus I'd suppose that this layer has got some typo ...

So far have not gone completely thru your longer mails, aiming to provide a systematic access to demicubic resp. pentic subsymmetric cases. Remeins to be done, esp. to be checked independently.

In the meantime i considered the same access to axial icosahedral subsymmetry.

There we have (as clearly is known)
x3o3o5o = o3o5o || x3o5o || o3o5x || f3o5o || o3x5o || f3o5o || o3o5x || x3o5o || o3o5o

So first we consider the layers and the possible quirks which can be applied therein.
E: o3o5o
D: x3o5o -> (-x)3x5o (=D) -> o3(-x)5f (=DD)
C: o3o5x -> o3f5(-x) (=C)
B: f3o5o
A: o3x5o -> x3(-x)5f (=A) -> (-x)3o5f (=AA)
Thereafter no prograde x remains.

Then we could consider for the following Stott expansions the there given cases:

(+x)3.5. :
(D) xoxFoFxox3oxooxooxo5ooxoooxoo&#xt
(AA) -> u
(AAD) xoxFoFxox3oxoooooxo5ooxofoxoo&#xt

.3(+x)5. :
(A) oxofxfoxo3xxxxoxxxx5ooxofoxoo&#xt
(DD) -> u
(ADD) ooofxfooo3xoxxoxxox5ofxofoxfo&#xt

.3.5(+x) :
(C) oxofofoxo3oofoxofoo5xxoxxxoxx&#xt

(+x)3(+x)5. :
(AD) -> u
(AADD) xxxFoFxxx3xoxxoxxox5ofxofoxfo&#xt

(+x)3.5(+x) :
(CD) xoxFxFxox3oxfoxofxo5xxoxxxoxx&#xt
(AAC) -> u
(AACD) xoxFoFxox3oxfooofxo5xxoxFxoxx&#xt

.3(+x)5(+x) :
(AC) oxofxfoxo3xxFxoxFxx5xxoxFxoxx&#xt
(CDD) -> u
(ACDD) ooofxfooo3xoFxoxFox5xFoxFxoFx&#xt

(+x)3(+x)5(+x) :
(ACD) -> u
(AACDD) xxxFoFxxx3xoFxxxFox5xFoxFxoFx&#xt

These are just all combinations.

Next we will check which of these remaining 11 cases would allow for unit lacings (inter-layer edges of unity), where the respective stratos height is given by the ex. This might reduce that count then a bit.

The remaining ones (true CRFs!) then would have to be evaluated, i.e. incidence matrices (generally quite huge ones) will have to be deduced. This then provides a clue onto their respective structure and their (total) cell counts.

Having now done right this. Thus the following ones are to be discarded additionally just because at least one layer cannot be laced to the rest by unit edges:
(D), (AADD), (AACD), (ACDD), (AACDD).

Thus we then are finally left for this subsymmetry with the following 6 valid cases 8) :D :P :!: ;)
Code: Select all
(AAD)  xoxFoFxox 3 oxoooooxo 5 ooxofoxoo &#xt
(A)    oxofxfoxo 3 xxxxoxxxx 5 ooxofoxoo &#xt

(CD)   xoxFxFxox 3 oxfoxofxo 5 xxoxxxoxx &#xt
(AC)   oxofxfoxo 3 xxFxoxFxx 5 xxoxFxoxx &#xt

(Spaces introduced for better readability. - Will elaborate 'em in the sequel...)
- Or does anyone recognise some of those to be already known??? (I'd doubt, but who knows...)

(the importand part of) A is either the (30-augmented) castellated x5o3x-prism or D4.9. EDIT: (30-augmented) castellated prism it is!

C then is D4.9. The part away from the equator is of course different. EDIT: without the vertices laying on (I guess) F3o5o.

AAD is the castellated x5o3x-prism, with some more stuff on the top. To be exact x5o3x || o5x3o || o5o3x, on both sides.

I already did this too, then using [5,3,2]-symmetry instead of [5,3]. This allows one more transition: B: f3o5o x -> f3o5o (-x)
This then gives some more possible expansions:
Code: Select all
.3.5. (+x):
(B): oxofo3oooox5ooxoo BCFox (B=A+x=2f+x, C=F+x=f+2x) (Just axial expansion, already known)

(+x)3.5. (+x):
(BD): xoxFx3oxoox5ooxoo BCFox
(AABD): xoxFo3oxooo5ooxof BCFox
.3(+x)5. (+x):
(AB): oxofx3xxxxo5ooxof BCFox
(ABDD): ooofx3xoxxo5ofxof BCFox
.3.5(+x) (+x):
(BC): oxofx3oofox5xFoxo BCFox

.3(+x)5(+x) (+x):
(ABC): oxofx3xxFxo5xFoxF BCFox
(ABCDD): ooofx3xoFxo5xFoxF BCFox
(+x)3.5(+x) (+x):
(BCD): xoxFx3oxfox5xxoxx BCFox
(AABCD): xoxFo3oxfoo5xxoxF BCFox
(+x)3(+x)5. (+x):
(AABDD): xxxFo3xoxxo5ofxof BCFox

(+x)3(+x)5(+x) (+x):
(AABCDD): xxxFo3xoFxx5xFoxF BCFox
These of course are expansions of things you've already checked. Though I'm not sure a non-CRF thing might give a CRF-thing, the things that are derived from CRF-things are:
Code: Select all
(AABD):xoxFo3oxooo5ooxof BCFox
(AB):oxofx3xxxxo5ooxof BCFox
(ABDD): ooofx3xoxxo5ofxof BCFox
(BC):oxofx3oofox5xFoxo BCFox

Total cell list thus becomes here:

30 bilbiroes,
2+24 = 26 ikes,
40+40 = 80 octs,
60 squippies, and
40 tets

The important structure here (as where for that castellated prism) is that of the equatorial bilbiroes. They are upright, i.e. one square towards top, the other towards bottom. And they do connect at their pentagons. I.e. we have 5 bilbiroes per upright 5-5 edge, resp. 3 bilbiroes per equatorial 3,5,3,5-vertex each.

2 ikes here are the absolute top resp. bottom. The other 24 divide into 12 still polar ones, reach that top/bottom layer by 1 vertex each and have full axial pentagonal symmetry.

Note that the mere castellated prism is interesting on ist own. It already shows that specific bilbiro structure and is much smaller. It even allows for a further Stott expansion wrt. the central nodes. But on the other hand this fellow (AAD) shows much better its clear relation to ex. Esp. all hyperplanes of vertex layers still are unchanged!

Right this latter fact surely is valid for the other 5 such derived figures too. But would not hold for the ones student91 brought in, i.e. which do contain some (B)-transformation.

Cells here thus are:

2 id,
30 ikes,
40 octs,
24+24+12 = 60 pips,
120+60 = 180 squippies,
60+120 = 180 tets,
40+40 = 80 tricues,
120 trips

Ikes here are equatorial, but occupy the rhombical positions (x3.5x).
Further there are stacks of pips, which run right through from top to bottom.
Obviously there is just a single class of hexagons. Therefore the tricues do connect pairwise at that base. And as EC lacings have size f, these tricu pairs won't be corealmic, i.e. those will not combine there to a single cell each!

Thus total cell count is:

2 ids,
30 ikes,
40 octs,
12 pips,
24 pocuros,
120+60 = 180 squippies, and
40+40 = 80 tets

That one finally shows why I have been revisiting this subsymmetry: it shows up the so far missing pocuros!
Ikes again occur equatorially within rhombical positionings.

Thus its total cell count is:

2 doe,
40 ikes,
24+24+12 = 60 pips,
60+120+120 = 300 squippies,
40+60 = 100 tets, and
60+60 = 120 trips

Here the ikes occur in axially threefold orientations on either hemisphere.
The pips again provide tunnels running from top to bottom.

Right this latter fact surely is valid for the other 5 such derived figures too. But would not hold for the ones student91 brought in, i.e. which do contain some (B)-transformation.

This remark just gave me a sudden realization of great truth! :lol:
The transformation AFfxo => BCFox indeed does not preserve the layer order. Instead, it does the axial-expansion-switch which I described the first time I described the axial expansion, i.e. ... || f3o5o || o3x5o || f3o5o || ... => ... || o3x5o || f3o5o || o3x5o || ...
Now when doing this expansion to one of the expansions in your list, this is no different: duplicate the second layer and merge the next layers in between.
From this we can conclude that (AABD) is not CRF, as the castellated prism does not allow such a switch. (BC) on the other hand, which is D4.9.0 with the switch, then (also) gives pocuro's. It has the same lacings as (AB)
(AB) is CRF for sure, and gives "vertical" bilbiroes, with the setup x o||f x||o f||f x||x o. lacing edges are: x: 1-2, 2-3 3-5 and 4-5, f:1-3, 2-5 and 3-4, F:1-4, q*f:1-5, sqrt(f+u):2-4
(ABC) is not CRF, as layer 1 has an x-lacing to 2, 2 to 3 and 4 to 5, thus 4&5 are isolated from the rest.
(BCD) probably is, as layer 1 has an x-lacing to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 5 and 5 to 4. f-lacings are 1-3, 2-5 and 3-4, F-lacings are 1-4 and q*f-lacings are 1-5 and 2-4.
(ABDD) is CRF as well, with the same lacing edges as (BCD).

Layers are wrt the old setup of ex: o3o5o || x3o5o || o3o5x || f3o5o || o3x5o || f3o5o || o3o5x || x3o5o || o3o5o, or oxofo3oooox5ooxoo AFfxo&#zx.

Thus its total cell count is:

40 octs,
12 pips,
24 pocuros,
120 squippies,
2 srids,
60+60 = 120 tets,
40 thawros,
60+60+60 = 180 trips

That one then is quite cool, simply for having both, thawros AND pocuros! 8)

Thus its total cell count is:

30 bilbiros,
24+24+12 = 60 dips,
60+120+60 = 240 squippies,
40 thawros,
2 tids,
40 tricues,
60 trips

This one then is again an already known one - at least in its main part: If the polar monostratic caps (which are likewise known segmentochora tid || grid each) are chopped off, then the remainder is nothing but what became known as the "squashed hexaconta-sphenated id-first deep parabidiminished rahi". That diminished one even got already pics from Quickfur, cf. that post. - Thus (AC) turns out to be just a para-bi-augmentation of that one.

The mentioned representation seems to be wrong, I fear. :o
Just calculated the inter-layer lacing edge lengths. For your representation I'd get:
Code: Select all
1-2 = 5-6 = 1
1-3 = 4-6 = 1
1-4 = 3-6 = f
1-5 = 2-6 = f
1-6 =       fq          = 2.288246
2-3 = 4-5 = 1
2-4 = 3-5 = rt[1-1/rt5] = 0.743496
2-5 =       rt[1+1/rt5] = 1.203002
3-4 =       rt[1+1/rt5]

Esp. because we were looking onto a convex unit-edged polychoron here (ex), lacing "edges" (or vertex distances) of (absolute) size <1 cannot be allowed.

Indeed it is :oops: :oops: . When I tried to deduce this representation from your lace-city, I tried to do it quickly and used the knowledge out of my memory.
Unfortunately, I remembered the transitions differently, with this as a result :( . In this representation, when you have a symbol A5B C5D, the symbols B5A D5C, D5C A5B and C5D B5A must also be present. I thought it to be C5D A5B and D5C B5A, causing this error. The same error was made in my post about [3,2,3]-symmetry, which has thus been revised. Thanks for this tip, as I was having difficulties with odd lacing edges in expansions of ex in [3,2,3]-symmetry. :)

In the meantime i considered the same access to axial icosahedral subsymmetry.
I already did this too, then using [5,3,2]-symmetry instead of [5,3]. This allows one more transition: B: f3o5o x -> f3o5o (-x)
This then gives some more possible expansions:
[...]
Though I'm not sure a non-CRF thing might give a CRF-thing, the things that are derived from CRF-things are:
Code: Select all
(AABD):xoxFo3oxooo5ooxof BCFox
(AB):oxofx3xxxxo5ooxof BCFox
(ABDD): ooofx3xoxxo5ofxof BCFox
(BC):oxofx3oofox5xFoxo BCFox
(BCD):xoxFx3oxfox5xxoxx BCFox
(ABC):oxofx3xxFxo5xFoxF BCFox

Okay, let's have a look into that slightly broader setup, which uses a further edge flip within the orthogonal direction of the axis of symmetry.

First we remind onto the corresponding heights between corresponding layers in ex:
Code: Select all
A=a = o
B-b = o+x = x
C-c = x+v = f
D-d = f+x = F
E-e = F+v=2f = V

additionally let's use here then the following elongated sizes A:=F+x=f+2x, B:=V+x=2f+x.

Now consider the transition from [3,5] to [2,3,5]. It thus translates into a notational change as follows:
ex = oxofofoxo3ooooxoooo5ooxoooxoo&#xt = VFfxo2oxofo3oooox5ooxoo&#zx

Then remind the possible quirks of each layer, rewritten to that subsymmetry:
Code: Select all
E: V2o3o5o
D: F2x3o5o -> F2(-x)3x5o (D) -> F2o3(-x)5f (DD)
C: f2o3o5x -> f2o3f5(-x) (C)
B: x2f3o5o -> (-x)2f3o5o (B)
A: o2o3x5o -> o2x3(-x)5f (A) -> o2(-x)3o5f (AA)

The cases without (B) already have been done in my former mails. So here we only will have to consider cases where (B) always is applied. This provides us the following further possibilities:

(+x)2.3.5.
BAFox2oxofo3oooox5ooxoo&#zx (B)

(+x)2(+x)3.5.
BAFox2xoxFx3oxoox5ooxoo&#zx (BD)
-> u (AAB)
BAFox2xoxFo3oxooo5ooxof&#zx (AABD)

(+x)2.3(+x)5.
BAFox2oxofx3xxxxo5ooxof&#zx (AB)
-> u (BDD)
BAFox2ooofx3xoxxo5ofxof&#zx (ABDD)

(+x)2.3.5(+x)
BAFox2oxofo3oofox5xxoxx&#zx (BC)

(+x)2(+x)3(+x)5.
-> u (ABD)
BAFox2xxxFo3xoxxx5ofxof&#zx (AABDD)

(+x)2(+x)3.5(+x)
BAFox2xoxFx3oxfox5xxoxx&#zx (BCD)
-> u (AABC)
BAFox2xoxFo3oxfoo5xxoxF&#zx (AABCD)

(+x)2.3(+x)5(+x)
-> u (ABC)
-> u (BCDD)
BAFox2ooofx3xoFxo5xFoxF&#zx (ABCDD)

(+x)2(+x)3(+x)5(+x)
-> u (ABCD)
BAFox2xxxFo3xoFxx5xFoxF&#zx (AABCDD)

These again are just all combinations.

Next we will check which of these remaining (further) 11 cases would allow for unit lacings (inter-layer edges of unity), where the respective "stratos height" is (now) always zero. This might reduce that count then a bit again.

(+x)2.3.5.
BAFox2oxofo3oooox5ooxoo&#zx (B)
That one is just the same as the single axial expansion we discovered earlier. Thus it is CRF, but not new
(+x)2(+x)3.5.
BAFox2xoxFx3oxoox5ooxoo&#zx (BD)
This one needs to be investigated, as I discarted all things that weren't CRF without the B
-> u (AAB)
BAFox2xoxFo3oxooo5ooxof&#zx (AABD)
This one is not CRF: the thing without B is the (augmented) castellated prism, and these bilbiroes don't allow a center-switch x2x||o2F||f2o||o2F||x2x => x2x||f2o||o2F||f2o||x2x, this is not CRF. Alternately one can see that the layer 4 vertices will become isolated
(+x)2.3(+x)5.
BAFox2oxofx3xxxxo5ooxof&#zx (AB)
this one is CRF. Lacing edges are: length x: 1-2, 2-3 3-5 and 4-5, length f:1-3, 2-5 and 3-4, length F:1-4, q*f:1-5, length sqrt(f+u):2-4
-> u (BDD)
BAFox2ooofx3xoxxo5ofxof&#zx (ABDD)
This one is CRF again, its lacing edges are: length x: 1-2, 2-3, 3-5 and 5-4, length f: 1-3, 2-5 and 3-4, length F: 1-4 and length q*f: 1-5 2-4.
(+x)2.3.5(+x)
BAFox2oxofo3oofox5xxoxx&#zx (BC)
This one is CRF, it has the same lacings as (AB)
(+x)2(+x)3(+x)5.
-> u (ABD)
BAFox2xxxFo3xoxxx5ofxof&#zx (AABDD)
This one hasn't been investigated by me again, as (AADD) isn't CRF
(+x)2(+x)3.5(+x)
BAFox2xoxFx3oxfox5xxoxx&#zx (BCD)
This one is CRF, it has the same lacings as (ABDD)
-> u (AABC)
BAFox2xoxFo3oxfoo5xxoxF&#zx (AABCD)
again, not investigated
(+x)2.3(+x)5(+x)
-> u (ABC)
how does (ABC) give u-edges? as far as I see it, it would be BAFox 2 oxofxfoxo 3 xxFxoxFxx 5 xxoxFxoxx &#zx. This one isn't CRF, as there are no lacing edges between layers {1,2,3} and {4,5}, but it doesn't produce u-edges though.
-> u (BCDD)
BAFox2ooofx3xoFxo5xFoxF&#zx (ABCDD)

(+x)2(+x)3(+x)5(+x)
-> u (ABCD)
BAFox2xxxFo3xoFxx5xFoxF&#zx (AABCDD)
again, I haven't investigated these
These again are just all combinations.

Next we will check which of these remaining (further) 11 cases would allow for unit lacings (inter-layer edges of unity), where the respective "stratos height" is (now) always zero. This might reduce that count then a bit again.
Thus so far, the ones
Code: Select all
BD
AABDD
AABCD
ABCDD
AABCDD
haven't been investigated. The ones that are CRF are:
Code: Select all
AB
ABDD
BC
BCD
and of course B, which is not new. Lacing edges are provided in this post, thus so far the following have been proven not to be CRF
Code: Select all
AABD
(ABC)

--- rk

Some further investigations gave: (BD) is CRF, same lacings as ABDD, (AABDD) is not, as 4 and 5 are completely isolated. (AABCD) has the same problem. (ABCDD) on the other hand has a connection between 4 and 5, but these are then not connected to the others. (AABCDD) then has 4 and 5 completely isolated again.

Re: Construction of BT-polytopes via partial Stott-expansion

Postby student91 » Tue Jul 29, 2014 5:08 pm

now copying your setup, which was better readable, to investigate [5,2,5]-symmetry.
ex: o5o x5x + o5x f5o + x5o o5f + o5f o5x + f5o x5o + x5x o5o; ooxofx 5 oxofox xfooxo 5 xofxoo &#zx

possible negative first nodes:
(-x)5F o5o (A1)
(-x)5f o5f (B1)

Other nodes are direct derivatives of these:
A gives: F5(-x) o5o (A2), o5o (-x)5F (A3), o5o F5(-x) (A4) (note that A1 and A2 resp. A3 and A4 are done on the same thing, and thus can't be done simultaneously)
B gives: f5(-x) f5o (B2), f5o (-x)5f (B3), o5f f5(-x) (B4)
numbers are indicating what node is negative.

(+x)5. .5. = .5(+x) .5. = .5. (+x)5. = .5. .5(+x):
(A1B1): xxoxFo 5 oxffoF xfooxo 5 xofxoo &#zx (already discovered in this post)

(+x)5(+x) .5. = .5. (+x)5(+x):
(A1B1B2): xfoxFo 5 xoFFxA xfooxo 5 xofxoo &#zx (A=F+x=f+2x) (does give A-edges, probably not CRF)

(+x)5. (+x)5. = .5(+x) .5(+x):
(A1A3B1B3): xxoxFo 5 oxffoF oFxxox 5 Fofxof &#zx

(+x)5. .5(+x) = .5(+x) (+x)5.:
(A1A4B1B4): xxoxFo 5 oxffoF Fffoxo 5 oxFoxx &#zx

(+x)5(+x) (+x)5. = (+x)5(+x) .5(+x) = (+x)5. (+x)5(+x) = .5(+x) (+x)5(+x):
(A1A3B1B2B3): xfoxFo 5 xoFFxA oFxxox 5 Fofxof &#zx
(A2A3B1B2B3): xfoxFA 5 xoFFxo oFxxox 5 Fofxof &#zx

(+x)5(+x) (+x)5(+x):
(A1A3B1B2B3B4): xxoxFo 5 xoFFxA oFFxox 5 AxFoxx &#zx
(A1A4B1B2B3B4): xxoxFo 5 xoFFxA AFFxox 5 oxFoxx &#zx

that one then has very few possibilities :)
How easily one gives his confidence to persons who know how to give themselves the appearance of more knowledge, when this knowledge has been drawn from a foreign source.

That one is just the same as the single axial expansion we discovered earlier. Thus it is CRF, but not new

Yep, indeed (B) = BAFox2oxofo3oooox5ooxoo&#zx allows for unit edge lacings only in a single sequence, which then defines the tower oxoofooxo3oooxoxooo5ooxoooxoo&#xt
