4D Action Game

Postby dearsip » Fri Dec 28, 2018 8:19 pm

Hi,

I rewrited urticator's 4D Maze Game and 4D Blocks' program. I added action game mode, in which there are gravity and you can jump from tesseract to tesseract.

WHOA. This looks EPIC!!! I'm gonna hafta try this out sometime. Sorry, not enough free time right now for this... but I've been envisioning something like this for a long time, just never got around to it!

I have to ask, though. Is it possible to reimplement this with 3D polygon rendering instead? Drawing 4D scenes with lines is admittedly the simplest and perhaps most feasible way to implement it, but it does get very confusing to look at after a while. Rendering with shaded polygons would go a long way in helping the player "see" what's going on in the 4D world. But I understand it's hard to make such a thing performant enough to be playable. Still, it seems a worthy goal to strive for.

I'm glad you like it.

Of course I also plan to implement 3D polygon rendering. But it seems to take a long time, and now I don't have enough time to tackle it. Please wait patiently.
