C++ Compiler?

Postby Nick » Sat Apr 05, 2008 2:15 pm

I'm trying to learn C++, and with so many choices for compilers I'm afraid I'm going to download crap. Does anyone here know any good C++ compilers that don't force me to download an IDE with it? I already have (and love) the Eclipse IDE.

Thanks for any help.

I'd suggest gcc... but I fail with makefiles, so it's never worked for me. I can code C very well, but I hardly get a chance to, because I can only edit, not create from scratch D:

I'm learning C++ too, and Code::Blocks is my compiler of choice. The best thing == its really simple unlike some other compilers. Just google it :D

GNU GCC (Gnu Compilers Collection)
The best choice possible, almost all Unices has it as a standard system tool
