wormholes

Discussion of theories involving time as a dimension, time travel, relativity, branes, and so on, usually applying to the "real" universe which we live in.

do wormholes necicarily have to be in curved space? in curved space, the wormhole goes through between the two curves, but if space were straight like this

couldnt a wormhole go like this?

and through the wormhole, you go faster.

It wouldn't make sense, unless a wormhole was made of something even more frictionless than space; because otherwise, why would you move faster to begin with? And if it was, it would most surely thin out into space and become non-existent.

no, but wouldnt the wormhole's gravity be way than the gravity of normal space, so the gravity pulls you to where the wormhole leads to.

Gravity is caused by the curvature of space, so it's a bit more complicated than that. It's possible you might be right, but I'm not sure. It would take a lot of general relativity calculations to work it out. Anyway, the situation is unlikely.

We don't know exactly what causes gravity.

not neccicarily, because the curvature of space is only a theory, so gravity dosent have to come from the curvture of space.
