Neutron Stars and wormholes

Postby anderscolingustafson » Mon Oct 25, 2010 3:50 pm

I know that most theories for worm holes involve mostly black holes but it there any possibility that neutron stars could also be used as wormholes. They are about as dense as the nucleus of an atom and if they could be used as wormholes there would be the advantage that one would not have to move faster than light to escape them. So is there any possibility that neutron stars could also be the mouths of worm holes because they're so dense?

IMO
For that to happen
The deformation of our 3-plane need to be so great that it requires some extra space to contain it, then once you get near the neutron star, you actually go into a 3d space in a different higher dimensional location

Why do people assume that 'deformed space' needs to be embedded in some larger space? Don't know.

Then where should the gravity well, which is deformed on all 3 perpendicular directions, be located?

The 'gravity well' isn't really a well at all. The gravity well picture is a graph, with real space horizontal, and potential vertical.

The whole thing is intended to be placed in a billiard table, using struck balls to create straight lines. Because real gravity powers the well, balls would be attracted to this. It's really just a model to simulate straight lines in the top of the thing. In fact, what is represented by a gravity well, actually has less volume in space than the disk placed across the surface.
