Living in the 2nd dimension

Hello,
I am in 9th grade and I am doing a project in geometry on living in the second dimension. I do not no much about it and I was wondering if anyone else on this forum does. I want to make an animation on a day in the life of a man in the 2nd dimesnion, but i would like to include all of the laws in it. Thank you!

This website should have more than enough information:

http://www.alcyone.com/max/lit/flatland/

Its a complete story by a Victorian monk, Edwin Abbot, written in 1884. It describes the experiences of a 2D character called A. Square (I think you can guess what shape he is). However, the story is a product of its time, so it does contain some not so respectful comments about women, etc.

You can also, of course, look at http://tetraspace.alkaline.org.

One thing you should decide on before starting your animation is what type of 2D world you want. Do you want a "floor" world (no gravity) or a "wall" world (gravity). Obviously, that's going to have major implications for the inhabitants of your world.

perhaps you could try making a 2d creature with sodaplay where you can turn the gravity on and off and alter its intensity, and I think a few of the other parameters mentioned as well.
it's free to download and fun
http://www.sodaplay.com/constructor/index.htm
your teacher will want to read the educational blurb before installing

cheers,
