Hyperbolic Tetris?

Postby Marek14 » Tue Oct 14, 2014 3:28 am

An idea: could a Tetris-like game work with hyperbolic geometry? I was thinking of tetrominos in {4,5} space; the set is similar to standard Tetris except for the square piece which would instead be 4 squares around a vertex with one empty space.

The biggest problem would be defining "lines" suitably...

You could try using 4,6 so that you can have a line

Existence of lines is not a problem -- 4,5 DOES have lines of squares, after all -- the problem is nonexistence of parallel lines. You can have one line of squares at the ground, horizontal, but all other must be oriented differently.
