From 3D to 4D

Ideas about how a world with more than three spatial dimensions would work - what laws of physics would be needed, how things would be built, how people would do things and so on.

From 3D to 4D

If a three dimensional person somehow suddenly were to get the ability to rotate and face the w-axis, and could twist and bend and walk through four dimensions, is it possible for the person to return to this 3D world and gain balance? Or, if a wind were to blow along the w direction, and hits us, would we be knocked off this realmspace to a three dimensional analogue of Flatland, where gravitational force does not act upon us since we would be lying completely flat on the three dimensional surcell?

It's surprising that so many people have seen the post but there are no replies so far. :(

It is somewhat silly, because in some sense you are part of space, and what you identify as being inside and outside of yourself does not mean that there is a real partition in space that can be cut out. It's kind of like cutting out a person in a photo. The paper and ink does not know separate entities, it's all the same to it. It's only you that create the separate entity.
The dream you dream alone is only a dream
the dream we dream together is reality.

I haven't replied because the question isn't really framed in a consistent way. You're making an assumption that our 3D space exists as a slice of an ambient 4D space, and that somehow wind and gravity continue to work in this ambient space unmodified, which can't be the case because the way wind and gravity works is inherently tied to the dimension of the space they operate in. If indeed 4D wind exists and our 3D space is a slice of the 4D space that this wind blows in, then it would've blown away all the atoms in our space eons ago. What prevents a continual barrage of matter from the ambient 4D space into our space? What prevents instant leakage of matter from our space into the ambient 4D space? Before you can even begin to answer things like how wind and gravity works, you have to decide on a model of how exactly our 3D space interacts with 4D space, since currently we have no evidence at all that there's a 4th macroscopic spatial dimension perpendicular to ours, so everyone is going to have a different idea of how exactly things will work.
