States of mater in the dimensions.

Ideas about how a world with more than three spatial dimensions would work - what laws of physics would be needed, how things would be built, how people would do things and so on.

States of mater in the dimensions.

In 4d the difference between densities of solids liquids and gasses would probably be greater. This is because it would take a greater difference in density to have the same difference in distance between molecules. For instance in 3d when air is 1000 times less dense than many solids and liquids the distance between its molecules is ten times greater. In 4d however air would have to be 10,000 times less dense than those solids in order for the distance between its to be ten times greater. This also means that in 4d substances could remain in the same state over a greater range of temperatures as it would take a greater difference in energy to get a greater difference in density.

In 2d on the other hand the differences between densities of solids liquids and gasses would probably be lower since it would take a lower difference in density to get the same difference in distance between molecules. So for instance in 2d air might be 100 times less dense than some solids instead of 1000 times as that would make the distance between its molecules ten times greater. This also means that in 2d the range of temperatures that a substance could be at any state would be less as it would take a lower difference in energy to get a lower difference in density.
