Regiment List to Eight Dimensions

Postby Polyhedron Dude » Sun May 25, 2014 5:57 am

I have finally got my regiment list up to the eighth dimension! All regiments now have short names :mrgreen:. I've linked a spreadsheet for anyone interested. It contains a short name, symbol, number of uniform polytope members in regiment if known *, a description of the verf **, and number of vertices. This list doesn't include prismatics.

* - regiment counts in { } have yet to be cleared of fissaries.
** - When using Klitzing's || (atop) symbol, I intend them to be simpexic instead of linear - i.e. a || b || c is a triangle of a, b, and c

right-click and save.

Now the trick is - trying to read all of the short names without laughing :P .

I may just do that - but it may be awhile. In the mean time, I've updated a few regiment counts (fixed a few typos and added some new counts). The new counts mainly are those related to crag = xoxox'o (which contain either 123 or 171 for skewed symmetrics), I also added in some srog relative counts that I forgot to type in (they contain 290 members each). The link above is now updated.

Well, several ones are obvious. But esp. the ones with Dynkin graph loops not. I might provide a list with just the not decryptable namings (also from other dimensions), as soon as I am thru with insertations into my excel spreadsheet "JonBowNa.xls", if this would decrease your efforts.

In the meanwhile I already spotted a duplicate:
- pero => pentagonal rotunda J6 (3D, 20041201)
- pero => prismatorhombated octeract (8D, 20140525)

(Would suggest "piro" for the latter, at least that one is still left free.)

and a typo:
Bacoptek oxooxxo'o

ought to be without "t", I suppose. (bicelliprismated ek)

I knew I could count on you to find any typo's and name clashes :) . I'll change the 8-D pero to piro and bacoptek to bacopek.

I'd further question the "r" within
Code: Select all
Pogecro     oxoxxxx'x
Pugcork     xxxxxox'o
Quipgecro   oxoxxxx"x

Suppose those are "(quasi-)peti-greato-cellated octeract/ek".
Thus I would expect those to be "pogeco", "pugcok", "quipgeco". Potentially "..cco" at most.
