Notation for Toratopes

Postby ubersketch » Fri Aug 21, 2020 2:43 am

A number n represents n-dimensional ball. Brackets hollow out its contents. For example, 2,2 is a duocylinder, [2]2 is a torus, [1]2 is two disjoint disks, [2]3 is a torisphere.

A torus is the product of the surfaces of two circles. The interior is not part of the product. I am sure that Philip has this matter sown up.

Oh dear, what's going on now. See, this is what happens when I replay fallout new vegas and skyrim back to back.

My question for ubersketch is how you differentiate between a tiger and a ditorus. This kinda sorta resembles my own linear construction method from STEMP notation, i.e. IO(O) , IO(OO) , IOO(O) . But, it fails to show the combinatorial differences of some shapes like (((II)II)(II)) vs ((III)((II)I)) .

Well, as for me, this is a convenient system for identifying types of bodies. This is both easier than writing its full name, and is applicable in solving problems.
